【摘要】:Thisslugtestfieldprocedureisusedinconjunctionwithaslugtestanalyticalprocedure,suchasTestMethodD4104toprovidequickandrelativelyinexpensiveestimatesoftransmissivity.Theslugtestprovidesanadvantageoverpumpingtestsinthatitdoesnotrequirethedisposalofthelargequantitiesofwaterthatmaybeproduced.Thisisofspecialimportancewhentestingapotentiallycontaminatedaquifer.However,slugtestsreflectconditionsnearthewell,thereforeareinfluencedbynear-wellconditions,suchasgravelpack,poorwelldevelopment,andskineffects.Slugtestsmaybemadeinaquifermaterialsoflowerhydraulicconductivitythangenerallyconsideredsuitableforhydraulictestingwithpumpingtests.Themethodofdataanalysis(analyticalprocedure)shouldbeknownpriortothefieldtestingtoensurethatallappropriatedimensionsandmeasurementsareproperlyrecorded.SelectionoftheanalyticalprocedurecanbeaidedbyusingGuideD4043,TestMethodD5785,TestMethodD5881,andTestMethodD5912.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthefieldprocedureforperforminganinsituinstantaneouschangeinhead(slug)test.1.2ThistestmethodisusedinconjunctionwithananalyticalproceduresuchasTestMethodD4104todetermineaquiferproperties.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
